"If you can't find a job become the job."

My mom told me in college that I need to start my own nonprofit teaching kids about websites. She's always said that I have been an entrepreneur and anytime I put my mind to something I always get it done. I've always told her that I wasn't ready, confident enough, or have the experience to have something of my own teaching people and/or kids about something that I am very passionate about.

As an educator at a STEM school for three years and an intern at City Year in Little Rock, I gained firsthand experience in both teaching students and understanding the inner workings of a nonprofit organization.

I've noticed that in the curriculum, students are learning about the "T" in STEM—technology. Since web design and development play a huge role in this, I want to teach children the fundamentals of using a computer, understanding how websites are built, exploring different layouts, and gaining basic coding skills. My goal is for children to develop a solid understanding of web design and development, rather than just learning about technology in a general sense.
